报告摘要

  In this talk, I will present a practical realization of the five-point conformal bootstrap. I will consider 5-point scalar correlators in d-dimensional conformal field theories (CFTs). I will begin by laying out a robust algorithm for the efficient numerical evaluation of five-point conformal blocks for exchanged primary operators of arbitrary spin. This approach features a simple power series ansatz for the blocks in terms of a suitable generalization of the four-point radial coordinates from arXiv:1303.1111, equipped with a set of recursion relations for the unknown parameters of the ansatz and a Pad´e approximant to accelerate the convergence of the series. I will then describe an explicit implementation of the 5-point bootstrap. Here, I will demand the satisfaction of the bootstrap crossing relations by minimizing an appropriate cost function. With this formalism in place, I will next proceed to harness it toward the study of the 3d critical Ising model. Thereupon, I will examine the correlator ⟨σσϵσσ⟩ and truncate the operator product expansion (OPE) to include contributions due to operators with conformal dimension below a certain cutoff ∆ ≤∆cutoff. I will approximate the remaining contributions by their counterparts in a suitable disconnected five-point correlator. Finally, I will describe how to extract OPE coefficients involving ϵ and two spinning operators with this approach. While these coefficients are nontrivial to access by means of the four-point conformal bootstrap, they are within ready reach of the five-point bootstrap. This analysis will ultimately establish the five-point bootstrap as a robust tool for studying CFTs.

  Valentina Prilepina,2017年博士毕业于美国加州大学戴维斯分校。先后在加拿大拉瓦尔大学、俄罗斯理论与数学物理研究所(ITMP)等地做博士后研究。2022、2023年在美国西蒙斯几何与物理中心、阿斯本物理中心做访问学者。现在加拿大滑铁卢圆周理论物理研究所做博士后研究。目前主要研究兴趣在于改进五点共形bootstrap相关的算法。
