报告题目:Studies on physical origin and multi-wavelength observation properties of fast radio bursts

报告摘要: Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are mysterious extragalactic radio transients with millisecond duration, large dispersion measure, and extremely high brightness temperatures. Although hundreds of FRBs have been discovered so far, there is few multi-wavelength transient being associated with any FRB. Studies on the radiation mechanism, propagation effects and the multi-wavelength observation properties of FRB sources would be essential to study its origin and environment. In this talk, I will focus on the following issues: 1. Radiation mechanism of FRBs: an extreme brightness temperature implies that the radiation mechanism of FRBs must be coherent. However, the type of coherent radiation of FRBs is still poorly known. 2. FRB interacting with ambient medium: near an FRB source, the classical Thomson scattering theory and the linear plasma theory become invalid. 3. Nebula emission associated with an FRB source: the multi-wavelength emission from the nebula would reveal the physical environment of the FRB source. Base on the above studies, we can further understand the physical origin and propagation properties of FRBs.


报告人简介:杨元培博士本科就读于南京大学,2016年从南京大学天文与空间科学学院博士毕业, 2016年至2019年在北京大学科维理天文与天体物理研究生做博士后,2019年加入云南大学中国西南天文研究所。目前是云南大学副教授,硕士生导师。杨元培博士主要从事高能天体物理研究,包括快速射电暴、引力波电磁对应体,以及基础物理学的天文探针等。他在国际天文学重要期刊上发表第一和通讯作者文章20篇,多次担任这些期刊的审稿人。获得过中国博士后创新人才支持计划,云南省青年人才项目,北京大学优秀博士后。在2020年国家自然科学基金委的中长期规划中,担任“快速射电暴及引力波暴”子课题撰稿人。
